I am way behind in updating this - I haven't gone spoken of the MPH show once (awesome by the way), but I need to talk about 2 articles in the paper today - which show just how stupid our nation, specifically, teenage females, have become.
First off, that guy who plays Edward in Twilight (see how interested I am in him, NO clue what his name is) says his most guilty incident was when he jokingly told a girl to take off her clothes when she asked what she could do to get his attention at an autograph signing. To his horror the girl took it seriously and had to be escorted out as she started to strip.
That made me shake my head in disbelief, and then I I hit the music pages and disbelief became justifiable outrage.
A JLS fan, who was desperate to meet the band, found out what hotel they were staying at, bought a large duffel bag identical to the type they use, then had a friend zip her up inside it and dump her with the luggage when no one was looking. She was there for half an hour, nearly dying of dehydration when someone noticed the bag moving just as they were getting ready to put them on the bus. They got her out, and the first thing she did was look for the band (who, much to her despair, had gone on ahead in cars and weren't there).
...HOW many braincells do you have to lose before you can actually plan a course of action like this and say 'this is a great idea!' What if she'd actually gotten into the luggage and been taken to the airport? She might have died from her temperature, or been arrested if she got as far as teh terminal. Not to mention what JLS might have actually done if they'd found her. The term 'restraining order' comes to mind.
Seriously, how empty our we making people's lives for them to DO things like this???

Article in the Sun today: Mrs Jessop complained that cops made her cow suffer by using four shots to kill it on a railway line near stirling.
Huh, think that was our Bessie last week? Or is cow crossing a regular phenonemon that I didn't know about?

God bless leaks in the roof. Thanks to a faulty washing machine pipe, we met the upstairs tenant, Steven, who after finding out about my lack of Internet, gave me his network key to use! I know have Internet for an unbelievably great price. Can't download anything huge, but I'll take what I can get (and sweet talk Ricky into nabbing anything I can't ^_^)
Course, I've also been reminded just how SLOW my damn laptop is online. Really have to replace it.
Okay, I could be here for hours reiterating things I've done, so lets shorten it up:
- Fanfiction is coming along at a snails pace. Stopped for a while to work on original fiction, which is coming along surprisingly easily for once. Will get back on track soon.
- Halloween party was awesome. Great to see Erin and her 'so-big-could-fit-my-old-room-and-living-r oom-and-bathroom-from-old-flat-and-still-h ave-room-to-spare' bedroom made for a great party place.
- Rest of Halloween was a washout though, literally. There was a river in place of the road on Sunday, resulting in me being drenched several times by Shamu type splashes from cars.
- Went to see Fantastic Mr Fox yesterday. Its awful.

Went and damaged my foot yesterday. During taekwondo warm up, we were doing these high knee-ups side to side, which is really hard to do if you’re not coordinated (point-to-me), and I went and fell over my right leg. It hurt, but I could still run, though kicking was out. I discovered my biggest issue was that I couldn’t make a Balkal (foot-sword, which is basically the position your foot needs to be in when you do a side kick in order to do maximum damage to your opponent with minimum damage to yourself) so I just hoped we weren’t doing sidekicks.
This weeks torture of choice? Sparring with a side kick focus -_-
By the end of the workout I’m in agony, and a little irritated cause I FINALLY got a good hit in, and only one of the two refs watching my mini spar saw it saw it didn’t count. I hike home on it, then watch Michael McIntyre before crashing.
This morning? Wake up to a leg in agony T_T Can barely move it at all. I’m walking with a minor limp and praying I haven’t pulled something.

Well, on Saturday I finally completed Tales of Vesperia, and to keep myself from spoiling it, lets go to everybody's favourite Link cut.

Argh, I HATE not having regular Internet. I get fanfiction and livejournal but I'm missing msn, facebook and youtube a helluva lot more than I wish I was T_T
There is something BITTERLY wrong with our wage system wherein my two coworkers are getting paid the same that I did today.
Okay, apparently it was David's leaving do last night (wasn't invited, kinda pissed cause me and David got along and would have liked to wish him luck), and so everyone got rather drunk. The morning guy barely said two words, clearly nursing a hangover, while at 1pm, Danny boy showed up, and even to my inexperienced eyes, was clearly soused. I thought hangover, but was quickly corrected - he was still drunk.
I sigh, collect myself and go on break. When I come back an hour later, Rob has (finally) arrived an our late, and OH DEAR GOD. I have seen more sober men coming out of pubs on stag nights. His face was red (and bleeding from multiple scratches which he couldn't explain), his right eye was squinting and no power on this earth could have helped him walk in a straight line. he ended up poking me with a label stick on more than one occasion and giggling.
And yet, we COULDN'T send them away because any relief we could get would be just as (if not more since they weren't working) drunk. So five hours of drunken workmates and D-chan getting headaches. I pray for horrific hangovers for the both of them.
On an unrelated note, I have (for once) the weekend of Halloween off. Anyone got any plans?

D-chan has been battling at least 3 different strains of the cold this week. First off I had to cut off the sore throat, then that cleared up in time for blocked nose and sneezing, and now thats clearing up for the chesty cough. For every symptom I kill another takes its place!
Plus, the building site opposite our building is driving everyone up the wall. The heavy machiney (steamrollers, diggers etc) make so much impact that everything in our building moves - its kind of like the humming you get off of giant computer processors. You don't realise just how much it irritates you until they go on break and your headache clears up from the tranquility of not having everything buzzing around you.
(sighs) In better news, I ordered my tickets for Top Gear Live in Birmingham - gonna go see it on the 12th.

Its not been a good day. First off, this whole 'free wi fi' thing is a load of bull! SIX coffee shops on union street either didn't have it or didn't have plugs, and the one that DID expected you to cough up £6 for an hour and a half of use! As much as I love using my own computer I don't like it THAT much.
So instead I'm back at good ol' Books N Beans for my Internet fix.
One good piece of news was that Jason brought me my desk today, though sounds like he hates his job with Sky. He keeps forgetting things and being late, and he doesn't like the manual labour (what else is new). He's got 4 weeks to shine or they probably wont keep him, so I'm hoping he can step up a notch or he'll be in trouble.
Unfortunately Ricky contacted me about that time. He's been sick since about Friday and hasn't gotten any better, so I can't go over to play Vesperia (JUST as it started to get good). Plus he has things to do on Monday so I wont be able to play it on the bank holiday either if he's better. And I can't even play a ps2 game because I discovered the plug cord for the ps2 has vanished in the move, giving me a rather heavy paperweight instead of a console! Argh!
Oh, and the dress that was cutting into me at Andrews party? It appears I CAN'T get an exchange because the 14 is sold out in every shop AND online! So I'm stuck with a dress that keeps trying to kill me.
Anyway, efore I forget, finally got round to uploading the photo's I took at An-chan's B-day. Not that great, my Video Camera doesn't like taking photos, but since I was the only one taking photo's nobody can complain ^_^

Argh - I HATE not having steady Internet access. Work and Ricky can only do so much!
Okay, the lowdown before my break is up, to be extended upon when I actually get the ability to do so. Had my Yellow Belt grading last Saturday - and passed by the skin of my teeth. Now I have a pretty belt that clashes horribly with my orange sandal-shoe things and means I have to buy sparring gloves or risk my arm becoming even more black and blue than it was made yesterday ^_^
Still working through Vesperia, and I can say after about 20 hours I am FINALLY getting into it.
Moved into new flat, and going to build a bookcase tonight. Need to stuff a bunch of things on ebay though, still have too much stuff (and no remote controls since they've all vanished in the move, along with my plug for my ps2!)
And fanfiction is coming along dreadfully slowly. I have little to no distractions but I can't get the damn things written!

Am now in new flat - which has no internet in my room. Should hopefully have it next week but until then you wont see me around ^_^
Ugh, after all that hassle, ALL those problems, I FINALLY find Simba a home, only for Charlie to send me a text today saying "Took the cat, don't worry." Argh! WHY didn't he tell me he could take the cat Saturday at least? What? Did he think we'd whine and cry about him stealing him if he asked before nabbing him?
(sighs) Ah well, probably for the best - Simba likes Charlie the most and it means he doesn't have to go on a 3 hour car trek to a new home. He'll proabably be happiest where he is now.
Anyway, spent all of Saturday looking through my stuff. You would think that through 4 moves in as many years I would have managed to cut my stuff down substancially. But no. I am the master of collecting and moving masses of crap.
5 hours later I'm staring at 3 boxes for Asylum credit, 7 black bags, a suitcase and two boxes for a Charity Shop, and about ten boxes of stuff I can't-bear-to-part-with that I have to somehow get to my new flat.
You have no idea how many of my mothers lectures I had to listen to that day. Made all the more worse with Charlie being there and the two of them getting into arguments about who got what.
All the keep boxes are still at home since I took everything to be given away in first. Charity shop got the stuff Sunday lunch break, and Ayslum Saturday night. Got two hardback comics, 2 volume comics, 2 cinemangas and a Deathnote Hoodie for my business.
And now I've really got to buckle down and start packing up my room. Think the models will go first - will have to redo all my boxes after seeing just HOW much stuff I have at home. Having about 8 small boxes here is too much, so need to lose about 2 boxes of stock somehow.

Okay, first off, my accommodation troubles are over. I got the room at Westburn and as soon as I give them the deposit I can start moving things in (and not a moment too soon).
Anyway, my copy of Tales of Vesperia came today, but left it at home to go play it at Ricky's since I don't have an Xbox 360 (and if anyone thinks buying a game when you don't have the console is stupid...then you're clearly not a true gamer. Especially when the game is so hard to find its practically a challenge ^_^).
Course I regretted it on the way there. Its been 'Day After Tomorrow' rain all day, and I was stupid enough to brave it in a summer jacket. Needless to say I was drenched by the time I got there. Ended up leaving at about 9.40 cause the rain appeared to stop (and I really didn't wanna brave King Street any later than that, especially in the rain).
Cut so I don't reveal or ruin anything. Not that I'm going into spoilers but just in case something slips.

(sighs in relief) The Simba issue is resolved. My Dad thinks my Nana will want him. And if she doesn't Shirley's sisters are cat lovers so might take him. And it they wont Dad and Shirley will take him in themselves. So Sims is staying in the family and has a home in the near future. Yay!
Course, now all I'm doing is panicking over how well he is going to travel in a car for 3-4 hours. I don't think he's been in one more than 20 minutes. Will have to study this...

Hokay, here's the story:
My mother has (finally) managed to sell the house. It wasn't easy, and made even harder by my soon-to-be-ex-stepfather, but ink will be on paper on Monday, and we'll have to have our stuff out of it in about two weeks. Which leaves us with a dilemma.
Simba.

Not the greatest photo I admit but its the only one I have on this computer.
Those of you that don't know, Simba is our ginger tabby cat, now pushing 15 years of age. He's been with us since I was seven, and these days he's just a big affectionate ball of fluff, who just wants a full bowl of food, a couch to sleep on, a hand to brush him and a knee to cuddle into.
However, because we live in such a lousy ANTI-PET society, his future is in jepoardy. I have tried (and failed miserably) to find a flat that will let me have a cat. But all are saying the same thing (no pets, allergies, etc). Jason will probably be moving in with a family friend who can't take him, and Mum refuses to. Charlie, who was originally the most likely candidate for rehoming him, doesn't look like he can either. Essentially, nobody can take him.
So, mostly out of lack of alternatives, I make a desperate appeal to my friends who are cat lovers, and live in travel distance of Aberdeen. Is anyone able to give him a home?

Hokay...sit rep.
Wings - painted, bronzed, 1/2 velcroed and fasteners drying. Hoop drying outside ready for hacking up tomorrow. On schedule.
Body - realised before I started cutting that if I give Pronyma her waist high slits, the leotard 'might' not stay as firmly in place as it currently is. Which will mean stitching it to the bodysuit, which definitely need another pair of hands, so will have to be done tomorrow night if I can rope Ricky into it (I REALLY need a female friend to do cosplay with sometime ^_^)
Belt...thing - Keep forgetting I need to make those two guard things. MUST do first thing tomorrow or I will forget again no doubt.
Necklace - made from air dry clay, currently drying in the kitchen. If it turns out too heavy or isn't going to work, will make another out of foam.
Headdress. Done. Except need to buy hair ties for the excess fringe bits (since I don't have any in the house now that my hair never reaches past my shoulders) to keep them from moulting. Looks awesome.
Gloves still haven't arrived, and need Ricky to help with boots - otherwise doing fine.

Well, Ricky came over to help me with Pronyma's designs - unfortunately it hasn't worked that well so I'll have to do them over again (and keep them on until they're dry - joy).
As for the body, my plan isn't going to work, but never fear, because I have a new plan! I need to undo some stitched but I'll be better off for it.
Wings are coming along nicely, they at least will be done in time at this rate. And the headdress is almost done. I did bring the wig out as well, and reminded myself of just WHY I don't cut wigs. Even with the foam head its a nightmare.
And doing the shoes tonight. Tomorrow or Monday though I need to get some more white and black paint for Karura's sword. I unfortunately ran out.
Also got tickets to travel to An-chans on Wednesday. Ironically, we were splitting up the 'going' journey so we wouldn't have to get up really early and travel so much. As it is, the only tickets available (cause we were stupid enough to keep putting it off), are at 5.30 in the morning. So we'll have to be up earlier than we normally are -_- Ai yai yai. Least maybe we can help An-chan with his cosplay if he wants it.
Just 4 days to go! Ai ya!

When I was little, I would -
1) Play with Barbies.
2) Go to ballet practice.
3) Climb lamp posts.
Also posted at the Ayacon forums, but I thought I'd see what people here thought.
I've hit a bit of a stumbling block (well, more like a 20 foot wall) while making the wings for Pronyma, and thought I'd see if anyone here has an idea.
I've made them out of foam, then covered in paper mache. But the paper was peeling off so I covered them with a layer of masking tape. However I was using spray paint, and once paint hits tape it instantly starts peeling off.
So, question. If I change to acylic paints will this stop happening? They're pretty expensive so don't want to buy them only to find they're just as worthless.
Or is it that asking tape is just the worst choice in materials? If so, if I cover them in say...electrical tape will it have a better effect?
Any advice is HIGHLY appreciated - I've come too far making these things to give up now!
